Sacramental Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion
Preparation for First Communion is a 2 - year process, beginning with a prerequisite year followed by a year of focusing on the sacraments. Children in 1st grade should begin their prerequisite year THIS FALL, which consists of one of these options:
MQP Family Faith Formation,
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) or
Enrollment in a Catholic school.
The First Communion Program is a hybrid model where parents (at least one parent) and child will gather in person for class twice a month and will continue with the formation at home for the rest of the month. No need to worry parents, you’ll be given all the training and support to continue the conversations and learning at home.
Classes will run from October to May twice a month on Saturday afternoons from 3:15 to 4:45p.m. or Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00p.m. for families who can only do weeknights (dates are TBD).
